Coming Soon.... Angels in the Field

Okay so bare with me. I've written this post three times and have lost them each time! So this round is going to be short and when I get more photos I will add more then. So, with that said, I wanted to do a different type of styled shoot. My model, Erin Dressander, was awesome. She comfortably gave me free reign to do what I wanted.
Erin has nearly flawless skin and I wanted to respect that so I ended up using Tart's CC stick in Light. I applied it in what looked like a Union Jack form (The British Flag). To blend I used a foundation brush but with this product you can use anything from a makup wedge or your fingers. It truely blends that easily and is completely weightless.

With a brush I utilized the green blue shade to add additional coverage under the eye and around the nostrils; the standard trouble spots in photography make up.
An important factor in photography makeup is bronzer and blush. These two need to be applied heavier than usual and frequently unnervers the client. I used MAC'S BRONZER with a fluffy brush to keep an even and natural look. I applied it in the traditional E formation (Hairline, hallow of the cheek, and lower side of the jawbone).
Good peach shades are natoriously difficult to find. The have a tendancy to look good in the packaging and once applied it doesn't look nearly as flattering. But patience has won out! Benefit's Majorette is exactly what I've been seeking. It is a cream blush that is an easily blendable and buildable color. For Erin, I applied three dots. One on the apple of the cheek and then two following the cheekbone. With circular and outward motions I blended it with my finger tips. It blended beautifuly and gave Erin a super soft look
NARS HIGHLIGHTER STICK IN ORGASM was applied in a C shape stopping half way on the upperside of the cheekbone and again blended with my fingers. If you are unfamaliar with the ORGASM shade I recomend snatching it up. It comes in many forms from lipstick to nail polish. It is always beautiful.
From this point on I moved to the eye. I always use a eye primer but not all are created equal. For a strong hold that doesn't allow a lot of bending (which is good for younger eyes and pale tones) for this I like KAT VON D'S primer in nude. For most others I use SMASHBOX EYELID PRIMER IN LIGHT. This primer is more of a silicone base which allows for excellent blending without creasing.
MAC'S SWEETLUST EYE SHADDOW is what I started with. It is a pale pink with a touch of shimmer. I love this shade. It is my go to when I'm in a hurry to get ready. I applied this over the entire lid with a fluffy brush. This shade isn't one that is very buildable but you can get a stronger shade using your finger tips as the warmth of your hand allows for a heavier deposit.
The next shade I laid down was a MAC shaddow in taupe and blended it easily over most of the lid. For the darkest shade I used MAC'S TEMPTED eyeshaddow which is a coppery bronze. I used my fingers to apply the darker shade along the lash line and blended it up to jus under the brow bone. To highlight I used URBAN DECAY'S BOOTY CALL FROM THE NAKED 2 PALETTE.
To line the eye I used ROACH 24/7 PENCIL BY URBAN DECAY. I topped this shade with a thin line of MAC'S LUMINOUS LINER in a golden shade. The combination was beautiful.
I had originally planned on false lashes but I really felt Erin didn't need them. I applied two coats of TWO FACED BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA. When I apply mascara I start on the top side of the lashes and draw them out and turn the brush clockwise. I do the tops because that is the most commonly viewed. When I work the underside, I start as close to the base as I can wiggle the brush side to side as I move upward. This technique allows for clean clumpless seperation and more volume.
The choice I made for the lip is an old one, TRUCO'S OXYGEN, which is a perfect nude shade but I felt like it was a touch too nude and so I applied NARS'S ORGASM LIP GLOSS.
To finish the look I went over it all with MAKEUP FOREVER'S HD POWDER and then KAT VON D'S LOCK 'N' LOAD SETTING SPRAY.
I was very happy with the results and loved watching the shoot. I can't wait to share the rest of the pictures when I get them.
