The Truth on Parabens (and it’s good news)

As it usually goes someone hears that there is a link between this and that and without looking into it ourselves we avoid it like a redheaded step child. Generally we hear that a product is linked to a specific type of cancer and we don’t follow up on the “why”.

Parabens are a frequently used preservative used in food, cosmetics, and skin care. These preservatives come in many forms

Parabens were mistakenly linked with an increased chance of breast cancer in 2004 but was quickly followed up by a paper by the same author stating that it is impossible for parabens to increase chances of cancer. Of course this following paper fell on deaf ears.

The research was done using a mitabilite of a paraben dirivitive in injectable and oral form. Neither conclusively gave the doctors concen.

In short, parabens are safe to use and as always educate yourself.
